Spring 2023 Community Service Event Sunday 5/7: Greenburgh Nature Center Edgemont Day of Service

The Edgemont Community Council is excited to announce its Spring 2023 community service event, this time in partnership with the Greenburgh Nature Center. Right in Edgemont, the Greenburgh Nature Center is a 33-acre nature preserve with trails, a vernal pond, a Native Plant Meadow, Native American Replica Village, Barnyard, and Organic Garden. Each year it impacts close to 90,000 individuals.

On Sunday, May 7th from 10AM to 1PM, please join Edgemont families and community members for a morning of outdoor community service followed by hamburgers/hot dogs to celebrate Earth Day.

Volunteer work will consist of removing invasive ivy from the Nature Center grounds and moving/spreading wood chips in the meadow and on our hiking trails. After the work, enjoy a lunch of hot dogs and hamburgers while our Naturalists show off some of our animal friends from our collection.

Cost is $50 per adult and $25 per child, with all proceeds going to support the Greenburgh Nature Center. To register, please visit https://greenburghnaturecenter.org/ecc-day-of-service. Additional information about the event can also be found on that page.

If you are not able to join us on May 7th or would like to make an even greater impact on the Greenburgh Nature Center, please consider making a contribution towards the ECC’s goal of raising $5,000 to reforest the woods of the Greenburgh Nature Center with native trees. To support this campaign, please visit www.bit.ly/405VXEf.

Please reach out to CommunityService@EdgemontECC.org if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you on May 7th!

Sincerely,
The Edgemont Community Council Board of Directors
