The Edgemont Community Council is the proud sponsor of the Edgemont Newcomers Club. After hearing from countless residents who were disappointed after the original Edgemont Newcomers Club went inactive in June 2022, in October 2023 the ECC stepped in as the new sponsor of this valuable community resource.

Edgemont is a vibrant, close-knit community, known for its beautiful homes, excellent schools, and the warmth of its residents. We take pride in our neighborhood and are delighted to welcome new families, individuals, and friends to join our Edgemont family.
Introducing the Edgemont Newcomers Club
The Edgemont Community Council’s Edgemont Newcomers Club is designed with one goal in mind: to make new residents’ transition to Edgemont as seamless and enjoyable as possible. Whether you’re a recent transplant, a first-time homeowner, or a new renter, this club is for you!
What to Expect from the Newcomers Club:
- A Sense of Belonging – Moving to a new place can sometimes make you feel like an outsider. It can especially be hard for new residents who don’t have children in the school district and are not yet plugged into the school community. Our Newcomers Club is your key to unlocking a sense of belonging in Edgemont. You’ll connect with fellow newcomers who share your excitement and curiosity about our community.
- Community Exploration – We know you’re eager to explore all that Edgemont and Westchester has to offer. Our club will host monthly coffee mornings in members’ homes, arrange regular happy hours at local establishments, and organize other social events to help newcomers get to know their neighbors, local businesses, schools, parks, and other community resources. Our first coffee morning is already scheduled for early December – sign up for our mailing list to learn more.
- Lasting Friendships – Moving to a new area is an excellent opportunity to make new friends, and that’s precisely what our Newcomers Club is all about. Whether you’re looking for playdates for your kids, a local dog-walking buddy, or a book club to join, you’ll find like-minded individuals here.
- Valuable Resources – The club is not just about socializing; it’s also about sharing knowledge. Gain valuable insights into the Edgemont area, from the best local restaurants to handy tips on navigating our community.
