The ECC Expresses Condolences to the Sheehan Family of Hartsdale

The Edgemont Community Council mourns the tragic and unexpected loss of Millie Ortiz Sheehan and Diana Trochez Sheehan, who lost their lives in a fatal car accident in White Plains on Monday morning. Millie Ortiz Sheehan was the wife, and Diana Trochez Sheehan the daughter-in-law, of Greenburgh Town Councilman Francis Sheehan.

In a statement, Councilman Sheehan called this the “worst nightmare possible.” He shared that both Millie and Diana were wonderful and kind, loved by all.

Diana was much more than a daughter-in-law. The family is extremely close, and, he explained, she and Francis’ son, a firefighter in Scarsdale also named Francis, moved next door, and they ate their dinner together every night.

Millie babysat for her four grandchildren every day and, as was part of her routine, drove the children to daycare. As great good fortune would have it, she and Diana had dropped Diana’s18-month-old and Millie’s daughter Christine’s 30-month-old only minutes before the crash, so the four car seats were empty on the return home when the crash occurred.

Expressions of condolence can be sent to Greenburgh Town Hall, to the attention of Joan Dudek.

A moment of silence will be held at the next ECC meeting on Monday, October 7th, at 8PM in the EHS Faculty Lounge.

Sincerely,
Dylan F. Pyne
President, The Edgemont Community Council
