The Edgemont Community Council (ECC) is proud to announce that its President, Dylan Pyne, has been appointed to serve on the newly created Citizens Infrastructure Task Force, one of seven issue-focused advisory groups established by U.S. Representative George Latimer (NY-16). The additional task forces will focus on Energy & Environment, Intergovernmental Affairs, Veterans Affairs, Foreign & Military Affairs, Jobs & Economy, and Social Services.
On Monday, December 1, at the Westchester County Center, Congressman Latimer unveiled the formation of these resident-driven task forces, each chaired by a subject-matter expert and composed of community leaders with relevant professional and advocacy experience. The groups are charged with making recommendations on legislation, funding, and administrative policies that will benefit residents of Westchester and the Bronx.
President Pyne was appointed to the Infrastructure Task Force, along with Morgen Fleisig, Harmeet Goindi, Noel Ellison, Rich Nightingale, and Michael Stanton. Jonathan E. Lewis of Scarsdale will chair the committee.
“We are fortunate here in Westchester and the Bronx to have many talented and engaged people whose knowledge and expertise can benefit all our communities,” said Rep. Latimer. “We have assembled seven working groups with diverse professional backgrounds, and we are going to give them a chance to be part of how the sausage gets made in Washington.”
Task Force Chairs will convene their initial organizational meetings within 30 days, setting priorities in collaboration with Rep. Latimer’s staff. Meetings will continue regularly throughout the year, with select sessions open to the public to ensure broad community participation.
Edgemont native Dylan Pyne has served as President of the ECC since July 1, 2022, having previously served on the ECC Board of Directors from 2014 through 2019. He also serves on the Westchester County Traffic Safety Board and is the Chairperson of the Town of Greenburgh Planning Board. Professionally, Pyne is the Senior Director of Development at Volunteer New York!, a Greenburgh-based nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities in the Lower Hudson Valley through volunteerism and civic engagement.
“I’m grateful to Congressman Latimer for the opportunity to ensure Edgemont and Greenburgh’s infrastructure needs are reflected in federal priorities,” said Pyne. “This is a chance to bring local experience directly into national policymaking.”
Under President Pyne’s leadership, the ECC has prioritized infrastructure, traffic, and public safety, championing safer streets and sidewalks, advancing pedestrian safety initiatives, and expanding opportunities for residents to actively participate in local planning and advocacy. The Council’s efforts have elevated longstanding safety concerns, strengthened collaboration with municipal and county officials, and resulted in significant investments in local infrastructure.
The ECC encourages residents to share their infrastructure concerns, ideas, and questions as the Task Force begins its work. Community feedback will play a critical role in ensuring Edgemont and Greenburgh’s priorities are represented in district-wide discussions. Residents may contact President Pyne at Dylan@EdgemontECC.org.
