Crane’s Pond Now Closed for Ice Skating

Dear Edgemont Neighbors,

I’ve just heard from Greenburgh Parks and Recreation that, as of 3:00 PM today (Friday, February 20), Crane’s Pond is closed to ice skating due to the recent warm temperatures and rain. They will continue to monitor conditions and determine whether the pond can be reopened again this winter season.

It has been wonderful to see so many neighbors and families enjoying the pond over the past three weeks — skating, playing hockey, and spending time together at this special community resource.

A special thank you again to the entire Greenburgh Parks and Recreation team — especially Parks Commissioner Joe Lucasey and Park Superintendent Bobby Breen — for their work maintaining and monitoring the pond and helping ensure it is safe for our community to enjoy year-round.

Sincerely,
Dylan F. Pyne
President, The Edgemont Community Council
