At its meeting on March 17, the Edgemont School Board Nominating Committee (SBNC) voted to recommend Heather Stern and Suri Singh for election to the Edgemont school board. Ms. Stern is an incumbent seeking a second term; Mr. Singh is seeking a first term.
The committee is grateful to all the candidates for their participation in the SBNC process and for their willingness to commit to serving the Edgemont community. The SBNC will sponsor an open forum to introduce the candidates to the community. (Further details to be announced.)
The SBNC process is designed to encourage qualified residents to make themselves available to serve on the school board and to implement a fair and judicious means for evaluating and recommending candidates. The nominating committee consists of residents from each of the community’s neighborhoods, as well as a student representative from Edgemont High School. The SBNC has been meeting since last fall, attending school board meetings, and gathering input from the community to ensure a comprehensive and thoughtful process.
