Dear Edgemont Neighbors,
Strong communication helps strengthen our schools and our community. The Edgemont Board of Education Communications Committee is currently seeking feedback from residents through its 2026 Communications Survey and is recruiting volunteers to serve on the committee during the 2026-27 school year.
I have had the privilege of serving on the Edgemont Board of Education Communications Committee over the past year and have been proud of the work we have accomplished together. The committee has helped expand and improve the district’s email communications, making it easier for residents to stay informed about important School District news and initiatives. We have also begun the important work of evaluating and improving the district’s website to ensure that information is more accessible, user-friendly, and responsive to community needs.
As the committee plans for the year ahead, it is asking residents to complete a brief survey by June 20. The survey seeks input on the information residents value most, how they prefer to receive updates, and ways the district can continue to strengthen communication and community engagement. Your feedback will help guide the committee’s priorities and future improvements.

The committee is also seeking several new volunteer members. Participants are asked to commit approximately two hours per month and contribute their ideas, perspectives, and expertise. Communications experience is not required, although an interest in communications, community engagement, or digital outreach is helpful. The committee is particularly interested in maintaining a diverse group of residents representing different neighborhoods, life stages, and perspectives within the Edgemont community.
If you are interested in serving, please email communications@edgemont.org by July 15 with a brief note describing one or two priorities you would like the committee to address, along with any relevant background or experience.
I encourage all residents to take a few moments to complete the survey and consider getting involved. Community participation helps ensure that Edgemont remains informed, connected, and engaged.
Sincerely,
Dylan Pyne
President, Edgemont Community Council
