Dear Edgemont Neighbors,
I wanted to share an opportunity to support our students at Edgemont High School and encourage members of our community to consider participating.
On Friday, October 23, Edgemont High School will hold its annual Global Citizenship Day, an event organized to help students better understand important global issues, learn from the experiences of others, and explore ways they can make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
The Edgemont High School Student Government (G.O.) is looking for community members willing to volunteer their time to speak with students about their professional experiences, community involvement, and the work they do. Speakers are encouraged to share how they became involved in their respective fields, what their day-to-day work looks like, and how their experiences have shaped their understanding of the world.
We are fortunate to have so many talented and engaged residents in Edgemont, representing a wide range of professions, organizations, and experiences. I hope many of you will consider taking some time out of your day to share those experiences with our students. Opportunities like this are an important part of connecting our schools with the broader community, and even a brief conversation can have a lasting impact on a young person exploring their own interests and future.
There will be multiple sessions throughout the day, and volunteers can participate in as many or as few as their schedules allow. Virtual participation is also an option for those who cannot attend in person.
If you are interested in participating, please complete the following form: Global Citizenship Day Volunteer Interest Form
If you have any questions, you can contact Atrina Khoshgehbari, a member of the Edgemont High School Student Government and this year’s ECC Student Representative, at akhoshgehbari@student.edgemont.org, and G.O. advisor Mrs. Ratcliffe at rratcliffe@edgemont.org.
I encourage everyone to consider participating or sharing this opportunity with someone who might be interested.
