Con Edison Rate Hike Proposal – Make Your Voice Heard

Dear Edgemont Neighbors,

Con Edison has proposed significant rate increases that are currently under review by the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC). If approved, these changes would increase the average residential bill by 11.4% for electricity and 13.3% for gas by 2026.

The PSC is now accepting public comments, and your feedback is critical. Whether you’ve experienced challenges with service or have concerns about affordability, this is a valuable opportunity to share your perspective.

Virtual public hearings will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM and 5:30 PM, and again on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 1:00 PM and 5:30 PM. To speak at a hearing, you must register at least one day in advance by visiting https://dps.ny.gov/calendar or by calling 1-800-342-3330.

You may also submit written comments by November 21, 2025. To submit comments online, visit www.dps.ny.gov, search for Case 25-E-0072 (electric) or 25-G-0073 (gas), and click “Post Comments.” Comments may also be mailed to Hon. Michelle L. Phillips, Secretary, Public Service Commission, Empire State Plaza, Agency Building 3, Albany, NY 12223-1350. You may also share feedback by calling the PSC Opinion Line at 1-800-335-2120.

If you or someone you know needs assistance due to a disability or language barrier, help is available by calling 1-518-473-9463.

The Edgemont Community Council remains committed to keeping Edgemont residents informed about issues that affect our daily lives. I encourage you to take a few moments to make your voice heard in this important process.

Sincerely,
Dylan F. Pyne
