Dear Edgemont Residents,
I’m happy to share that I’ve just heard from Greenburgh Parks and Recreation that, as of 3:00 PM on Friday, January 30, Crane’s Pond is now open for ice skating. Sustained cold temperatures over the past several days have allowed the ice to be tested and deemed safe for public use.
A special thank you to the entire Greenburgh Parks and Recreation team — especially Parks Commissioner Joe Lucasey and Park Superintendent Bobby Breen — for their hard work in preparing the pond and ensuring it is safe for our community to enjoy.
As always, please follow posted safety guidelines and look out for one another while on the ice. We hope you enjoy this wonderful winter activity and longstanding Edgemont tradition.
During this period, Crane’s Pond hours will remain as usual, and the park will close at sunset.
Stay warm and have fun!
Sincerely,
Dylan F. Pyne
President, The Edgemont Community Council
