Dear Neighbors,
I’m pleased to share a positive update regarding the Bronx River Trailway Bridge pathway in Edgemont. Last week, the County completed work on paving the previously unpaved pedestrian path that connects Pipeline Road to the bridge — transforming a rough, dirt trail into a smooth, much more walkable surface. This improvement will benefit the many residents who rely on this path for their daily commutes, exercise, or strolls with family.
On behalf of the Edgemont Community Council, I want to extend our sincere thanks to County Executive Ken Jenkins and Intergovernmental Relations Aide Harry Brussel for their swift response and support in getting this project completed. This improvement, along with the Town’s earlier efforts to install additional signage and paint a shoulder along Pipeline Road leading to the bridge, represents meaningful progress in improving pedestrian safety in this high-foot-traffic corridor.
We’re also grateful to the many Edgemont residents whose continued advocacy helped bring attention to this critical stretch of Pipeline Road — leading to tangible improvements that benefit the entire community.
The ECC will continue working with both the Town and the County to explore additional ways to enhance safety and walkability in the area.
Thank you for being active partners in shaping the future of our community.
Sincerely,
Dylan F. Pyne
President, Edgemont Community Council
