Thank you to the over 30 volunteers from the Edgemont community who came together last Sunday at the Greenburgh Nature Center. Thank you also to Greenburgh Councilwomen Ellen Hendricks and Gina Jackson for joining us. Volunteers mulched the organic garden, the Sulcata exhibit, the bird of prey exhibit and the Wigwam area. Additionally, volunteers removed over 160 cubic yards of invasive plants from the top of wetland area, reducing seed spread to this sensitive habitat. The ECC also raised $1,650 to support the work of the Nature Center and to reforest their woods with native trees.
We are still working on reaching our $5,000 goal to reforest the Greenburgh Nature Center with native trees. To contribute to this initiative please visit this giving page.
Please join the Edgemont Community Council mailing list to stay informed about future community service opportunities hosted by the ECC.
