At the February 25, 2025, Board of Education meeting, Board President Jennifer DeMarrais reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to improving school access roads and addressing safety concerns across Edgemont’s three campuses. These projects were excluded from the Building Dreams capital bond passed in October 2024 due to community concerns.
“The bond we presented last May included site-access work that we felt was critical to safety at each campus and in the surrounding communities,” DeMarrais explained. “In response to public opposition, we listened and did not include those projects in the approved bond. However, we remain committed to improving site access in emergency situations. The Board has started the conversation on how to develop these projects, and it will be a process that includes meaningful community input. So, stay tuned.”
The Edgemont Community Council will support and assist the school board as it begins the process of engaging the community on these important issues. As always, we’ll keep residents informed as the district’s plans evolve.
Sincerely,
Dylan Pyne
