Dear Edgemont Neighbors,
I am excited to share that Edgemont resident Amy Foote was formally appointed as a Greenburgh Town Justice at a special meeting of the Greenburgh Town Board held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. Her appointment will take effect on January 1, 2026.
Amy was appointed to fill the vacancy created by the election of Erin McGoey, who was elected in November to serve as a Westchester County Court Judge. Upon taking office, Amy will join Hon. Delores Scott Brathwaite and Hon. Lia Rodriguez on the Greenburgh Town Court.
On behalf of the Edgemont Community Council, I extend our congratulations to Amy on this significant and well-deserved appointment.
Amy has been a resident of Edgemont for 15 years and brings more than 25 years of legal experience to the bench. She is currently the Managing Principal of the Foote Law Firm and has an extensive background in criminal and civil litigation, investigations, compliance, and governance. Her legal career began as an Assistant District Attorney in the New York County District Attorney’s Office under the Hon. Robert M. Morgenthau, and she has since held senior roles advising public- and private-sector clients on complex legal and regulatory matters.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Amy has demonstrated a strong commitment to civic and community life. She currently serves as President of the Cotswold Association, one of the Edgemont Community Council’s member associations, and has previously served on the boards of the New York Women’s Bar Association Foundation and the Global Partnership for Afghanistan.
Amy is also deeply rooted in our school community, with three daughters currently attending Edgemont schools and a step-daughter who is a graduate of the Ardsley School District. Her ties to our community, combined with her professional experience and dedication to public service, will serve the residents of Greenburgh well.
The Edgemont Community Council congratulates Judge Foote on this important milestone and wishes her every success as she begins her service on the Greenburgh Town Court. We are proud to see a member of our community take on this vital role.
Sincerely,
Dylan F. Pyne
President, The Edgemont Community Council
