Edgemont’s Colleen Brathwaite and Grace Lin Honored by Greenburgh Town Board for Community Leadership

The Edgemont Community Council proudly congratulates two exceptional women — Colleen Brathwaite and Grace Lin — who were honored by the Greenburgh Town Board at its March 26, 2025 meeting in celebration of Women’s History Month and in recognition of their outstanding community service.

Colleen Brathwaite, a former Edgemont resident and Chair Emerita of the Westchester Women’s Agenda, was recognized for her decades of tireless advocacy for racial, economic, and gender equity. A trailblazer in Westchester County, Colleen has led transformative research and policy initiatives, co-founded the Westchester Racial Equity Collaborative, and served as a core member of the Greenburgh Restorative Listening Circles Project. Her work has empowered individuals and organizations to take bold action toward justice, inclusion, and lasting community change. In 2024, she was honored with the Social Advocacy Award at the Volunteer New York! Volunteer Spirit Awards. Now a resident of the Fairview neighborhood of Greenburgh, Colleen raised her family in Edgemont, where both of her daughters graduated from Edgemont High School. Colleen’s proclamation was presented by Greenburgh Councilwoman Ellen Hendrickx.

Grace Lin, Vice President of the Edgemont School Board and a proud Edgemont High School graduate, was honored for her deep and ongoing commitment to the Edgemont and Greenburgh communities. After living and working in various parts of the country and world, Grace chose to return to Edgemont to raise her family and give back to the place that shaped her. Now a parent of three children in the Edgemont schools, she has become a trusted and compassionate leader, actively involved in both school and community life. Whether serving as a Girl Scout troop leader, advocating for safer streets, or fostering inclusive policies as a Board of Education member, Grace is deeply engaged in building a stronger, more connected community. Her leadership reflects a spirit of care, humility, and service — and a strong belief in giving back to the place she calls home. Grace’s proclamation was presented by Greenburgh Councilwoman Joy Haber.

Both Colleen and Grace embody the spirit of Women’s History Month through their visionary leadership, selfless service, and unwavering dedication to building a stronger, more inclusive community.

Please join us in celebrating their achievements and thanking them for their extraordinary contributions.

With pride and appreciation,
Dylan F. Pyne
