Greenburgh Town Board Awards Contract for Fort Hill & Ardsley "Smart" Traffic Light at 11/12/25 Town Board Meeting

At its November 12, 2025 meeting, the Greenburgh Town Board adopted PW 2 – 11/12/2025, awarding the contract for the proposed Traffic Signal Installation and Sidewalk Improvements at the Fort Hill and Ardsley Road intersection to Morano Bros., the lowest responsible bidder, for an amount not to exceed $448,036.

This marks a major milestone in the Edgemont Community Council’s ongoing traffic and pedestrian safety advocacy, as the new “smart” traffic light at the intersection of Ardsley Road and Fort Hill Road moves from planning to implementation. In addition to the new signal, the project includes sidewalk and crosswalk improvements at the intersection. The work is expected to be completed by Spring 2026.

The installation of this signal was one of the top priorities identified in the ECC’s October 2023 Traffic and Safety Report and was subsequently funded as a result of ECC advocacy through the 2024 Town of Greenburgh Capital Budget.

The ECC thanks Greenburgh Commissioner of Public Works Richard Fon, Commissioner of Community Development & Conservation Garrett Duquesne, Greenburgh Town Engineer Jason Coppola, Commanding Officer of the Greenburgh Police Department Traffic and Safety Unit Sgt. Benjamin Fontanelles, and the Greenburgh Town Board for their continued partnership in advancing Edgemont’s public safety priorities.

Sincerely,
Dylan F. Pyne
President, The Edgemont Community Council
