New Website Expands Community Access to Greenville Fire District Information

Dear Edgemont Neighbors,

The Edgemont Community Council is pleased to share that the Greenville Fire District has launched a new website: www.fdgreenville.com.

The new site is a valuable resource for our community. Residents can now easily find the 2026 meeting schedule for the Board of Fire Commissioners and access important materials under the District Records tab, including past Board agendas, prior meeting minutes, historical public notices, as well as past District budgets and financial audit reports. This is a meaningful step forward in improving transparency and making Fire District information more accessible to the community.

For those who may be less familiar with the Fire District’s role, the Greenville Fire District provides fire suppression, rescue, EMS first response, and fire prevention services to more than 7,000 residents across Edgemont. The District is governed by a five-member Board of Fire Commissioners, each serving staggered five-year terms, with day-to-day operations led by the Fire Chief, Gus Spedaliere. The Commissioners are responsible for setting policy, overseeing the budget and long-term planning, and ensuring that both volunteer and career firefighters have the resources they need to protect our community. In 2026, the Fire District’s total operating budget will be just under $14 million.

On behalf of the Edgemont Community Council, I commend the Greenville Fire District for strengthening its communication with residents and providing new tools that help the community better understand its work and governance. We look forward to continuing to support and partner with the Fire District in 2026 and beyond.

Sincerely,
Dylan F. Pyne
President, Edgemont Community Council
