Since 1989, the Old Edgemont Association has sponsored the annual Crane’s Pond Halloween Parade. While initially planned as a small neighborhood gathering, the Parade has since grown to be one of the most beloved Edgemont traditions with residents young and old traveling from every corner of Edgemont to participate in the walk through Walbrooke Road and Edgemont Road, with the reward of donuts and cider waiting at Crane’s Pond at the end of the journey.
For the first time in partnership and co-sponsorship with the Edgemont Community Council, the Crane’s Pond Halloween Parade, scheduled this year for Sunday, October 29th at 3PM, will be officially an Edgemont wide-event with the opportunity for everyone in Edgemont to both participate and help with the planning and day-of assistance.
If you are interested in joining the Crane’s Pond Halloween Parade Planning Committee, please reach out by Friday, September 29th to the ECC Programming Committee at Programming@EdgemontECC.org. We are especially looking for volunteers who would be willing to be positioned around the parade route and ensure a safe environment while the youngest Edgemonters and their families are able to walk the parade. This is a great opportunity for high school students, parents of high school students, and empty-nesters. The day of commitment is about an hour and half.
Please reach out if you have any questions. We look forward to the best Crane’s Pond Halloween Parade yet!
Sincerely,
Dylan F. Pyne
