JOURNAL NEWS SAYS FEINER'S "SQUANDERING" OF $12 MILLION IS WHY WESTHELP REMAINS EMPTY AFTER 3 YEARS

The Journal News’s tax watch columnist, David McKay Wilson, cites Town Supervisor Paul Feiner’s having squandered $12 million in WestHELP rental payments from 2001 to 2011 as the main reason why the Town has failed to spend the money needed to convert the 108 “transitional” housing units for homeless single women and their pre-school age children into low and moderate income rental apartments, as the Town’s 30-year rent-free lease with the county requires.
