SNOW FORCES CANCELLATION TONIGHT OF "URINETOWN" OPENING

Alas, the show tonight will not go on.

Edgemont school superintendent Victoria Kniewel notified parents and guardians at 12:30 p.m. that because of the snowstorm, in addition to the schools being closed today, performance of the high school musical, “Urinetown,” scheduled to open tonight, will be canceled.  School officials had held out hope early this morning, when they made the decision to close the schools, that the show tonight might still go on.

Tickets for tonight’s performance, which was a benefit for the Edgemont Scholarship Council, can be used in one of two ways:

First, tickets may be returned or released for a full refund.  Or, alternatively, tickets may be traded for a ticket to one of the remaining shows on Friday at 7 p.m., or on Saturday at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Ticket holders for tonight’s performance will be given priority over walk-ins at the door.  Upon  their arrival, they will be able to exchange their Thursday night ticket for a ticket to the show on Friday or Saturday, but they are urged to arrive early in order to ensure the widest variety of available seats.

Student Production will still donate $10 to the Edgemont Scholarship Council for each ticket that was purchased for the canceled performance.

Ms. Kniewel also reported that the Seely Place 5th graders, who had left for their annual Philadelphia trip before the storm hit, were all doing fine.  The fifth graders have activities scheduled in the hotel today, will continue their regularly scheduled activities tomorrow and return to Seely Place by 4 p.m.
