Dear Edgemont Residents,
The School Board Nominating Committee (SBNC) will hold its Open Nominating Meeting on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 7:00 pm at Seely Place Elementary School, Room 110. The community is invited and encouraged to attend. On that evening, I will read aloud the letters we have received nominating residents as candidates for the Board of Education of the Edgemont School District.
The SBNC invites and encourages all Edgemont residents to participate in the nominating process by urging qualified residents of our community to seek nomination to the Board of Education and to submit nomination letters for candidates. Nomination letters must be made in an email or physical letter to the SBNC Chair and must be received by January 20, 2026. Physical nominating letters may be presented to me in person at the Open Nominating Meeting. The requirements of the nominating letter may be found at www.edgemontecc.org/sbnc.
This year, we will recommend two candidates. Jennifer DeMarrais is completing her second term of service on the school board and will not seek a subsequent term. Heather Stern is completing her first term and will be seeking a second three-year term.
The SBNC has served our community for over ninety years, promoting citizen participation and reducing acrimony, single-issue campaigns, and polarization. I’m proud of the committee’s work on this process so far, and I look forward to seeing community members at our Open Nominating Meeting on January 20 at 7pm at Seely Place School.
