The Edgemont Community Council Silver Bowl Award for distinguished community service has been awarded almost every year since 1950. Serving on this year’s Silver Bowl Award Committee were Howard Hirsch, Anshu Kalhan, David Stern, and Brian Weiss (no relation), with Jonathan Lewis serving as chair. After reviewing numerous nominations, the committee recommended that we present this year’s Silver Bowl to Cotswold resident Andrea K. Weiss for her twenty-six years of dedicated service to the Edgemont community.
Andrea Weiss has been an active and engaged member of the Edgemont community since moving here in 2000. A graduate of Cornell University (BA in economics) and NYU Stern School of Business (MBA), Andrea built a successful career in business before becoming a top-producing real estate advisor with Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty, where she is known for her integrity, market knowledge, and strong client advocacy.
Andrea’s involvement in Edgemont began as a young mother raising her three sons and quickly grew into a deep and sustained commitment to the schools and broader community. She served as a class parent every year throughout her children’s elementary school experience and led the elementary school parent-student book group for many years. At the junior/senior high school level, she served on the PTSA Board as Membership Chair.
Her leadership and volunteerism span most of Edgemont’s core institutions. Andrea served on the board of the Edgemont School Foundation, where she chaired the annual spring fundraising event for several years and later served as co-president for three years. She also played an active role on the board of the Edgemont Scholarship Council, helping to organize several annual fundraising dinners. In addition, Andrea served for many years on the Edgemont Community Council, both as a Cotswold Association Representative and as a Director. Her various ECC roles included vice president and Silver Bowl Committee member.
Andrea’s civic involvement also includes multiple years of service to Edgemont’s School Board Nominating Committee (“SBNC”), where she represented Cotswold for several years. She later served as the committee’s chair, and also served on the 2024 committee to update the SBNC Rules and Procedures. She has been a member of the Cotswold Association Board for nearly 20 years.
Through her professional work, Andrea has become a trusted ambassador for Edgemont, taking particular pride in introducing prospective buyers to the community. By sharing her personal experience and deep understanding of what makes Edgemont unique, she has helped many families discover and ultimately choose Edgemont as their home. Andrea and her husband, Loren, remain active members of the Edgemont community.
Please join the ECC in celebrating Andrea’s service at our Annual Meeting on Wednesday, April 29 at 8:00PM in the Seely Place APR. Light coffee and dessert will be served between 7:15 and 8:00 PM, when we will be joined by Town of Greenburgh commissioners and department heads, who will be on hand to answer questions, hear feedback, and engage directly with the community. The Annual Meeting will also feature a keynote address from political consultant Doug Forand, who will offer a behind-the-scenes look at campaigns and share insights from his decades of experience in public affairs.
