Commemorating 250 Years of Revolutionary War History in Edgemont - 10/17 at 5PM

Dear Edgemont Neighbors,

Did you know that 250 years ago, Continental Army soldiers marched through what is now Edgemont along a route remembered today as Old Army Road? Between October 21 and 26, 1776, American troops moved through our area in the days leading up to the Battle of White Plains.

To commemorate this important chapter in our community’s history, I encourage our neighbors to join the Edgemont Community Council, the Edgemont Historical Society, and other community partners for a brief banner dedication ceremony on Saturday, October 17, at 5:00 PM, at the intersection of Old Army Road and Ardsley Road.

Special thanks to Peter Blier of the Edgemont Historical Society for spearheading this effort, as well as the Scarsdale Historical Society, the Greenburgh Town Board, Commissioner of Community Development & Conservation Garrett Duquesne, the Greenburgh Police Department, and Sergeant Benjamin Fontanilles for their support in making this recognition possible.

As we celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary, this is a wonderful opportunity to recognize Edgemont’s place in American history.
