Boil Water Advisory Issued – October 23, 2026

Dear Edgemont Neighbors,

The Westchester County Health Department has issued a Boil Water Advisory for the affected areas of Greenburgh Consolidated Water District #1 listed below, following the significant water main break.

Bring all tap water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before drinking it or using it to prepare food, wash dishes by hand, or brush teeth. The advisory does not extend to bathing, washing clothes, or using a dishwasher.

Affected areas, as described by the County:

  • – Area 1: Between the Sprain Brook Parkway and Central Avenue, from Jackson Avenue to Underhill Road.
  • – Area 2: Between Central Avenue and the Bronx River Parkway, with Dromore Road as the northern boundary, excluding Old Colony Road.
  • – Area 3: The Central Avenue corridor from Underhill Road/Old Army Road north to West/East Hartsdale Avenue.
  • – Area 4: West/East Hartsdale Avenue/Knollwood Road as the western/southern boundary, with I-287 as the northern boundary.
  • – Area 5: Between I-287 and Old Tarrytown Road, bounded by Washington Avenue to the west and Beech/Maple Street to the east.
  • – Area 6: Saw Mill River Road, extending to Stone Avenue in Elmsford, as the northern/western boundary; the Sprain Brook Parkway as the eastern boundary; and houses north of Secor Road as the northern boundary.

The advisory remains in effect until further testing confirms the water is safe for consumption and residents are officially notified that it has been lifted. Restoration of water service does not mean the advisory has ended.

The County Health Department is working with the Town and its water operators to monitor the situation and ensure appropriate water quality testing once service is restored.
