ECC CANCELS APRIL 24 HEARING ON INCORPORATION PETITION AFTER FEINER SAYS THOSE IN FAVOR OF PETITION’S LEGAL SUFFICIENCY MAY SPEAK AT NEXT HEARING

Edgemont Community Council president Bob Bernstein has canceled the public hearing he said the ECC would hold on  April 24, 2017, to address the legal sufficiency of the Edgemont incorporation petition.  The cancellation came after Town Supervisor Paul Feiner announced this week that he would hold his own public hearing at Town Hall at the exact same date and time – only this time he says he will allow those in favor of the petition’s legal sufficiency to speak. In an open letter to Mr. Feiner about the April 24 public hearing. Mr. Bernstein pointed out, among other things, that Mr. Feiner had promised once before in writing to allow both sides to be heard on the issue, and then, at the April 5 public hearing, he broke his word.  The email chain from early March in which Mr. Feiner pledged both sides could speak at the April 5 hearing is enclosed.
