GREENBURGH POLICE: ONE ARREST MADE IN CASE OF 'MENACING' AT EDGEMONT 7-11

The large plate glass window at the Edgemont 7-11 was smashed this evening when a fight broke out between two individuals known to each other, with one brandishing a box cutter, police said. One of the individuals was arrested.

Several Edgemont residents who came upon the scene this evening and saw the broken glass thought there might have been a robbery at the store, but that was not the case, said Chris McNerney, Greenburgh police chief.

“There was a menacing (with a box cutter), assault, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment arrest tonight at the 7-11, ” Chief McNerney said.

“In sum and substance, 2 individuals known to each other had a dispute, one brandished a box cutter, there was a punch (or punches) thrown and one of the individuals was pushed into the window of the 7-11, breaking it. One individual is under arrest at this time,” he added.

The incident took place at 8:30 p.m.

The two individuals involved were adult co-workers at a nearby restaurant, Chief McNerney said.  No injuries were reported.
