The Greenburgh Town Board, at its March 27th, 2024 meeting, adopted two resolutions related to the ECC’s ongoing public safety advocacy efforts and the ECC’s public safety priorities identified in the ECC’s October 2023 Traffic and Safety Report.
Resolution CD 4 – 3/27/2024 approved supplemental survey services in connection with an Ardsley Road and Fort Hill Road Intersection Traffic Signal Project.
In the October 2023 Traffic Safety Report, the installation of a “smart” traffic light at the intersection of Ardsley Road and Fort Hill Road was a key priorities which came out of the comprehensive traffic and pedestrian safety engagement process which consisted of 12 interactive, neighborhood-specific online workshops and 5 surveys with 632 total responses from residents.
Resolution CD 5 – 3/27/2024 approved the issuance of a request for proposals (RFP) for surveying services related to various potential future sidewalk and infrastructure projects. Included in the RFP was surveying services for Mt. Joy Avenue (Old Army to Fort Hill Road) [Survey 1] and Fort Hill Road (Underhill to Longview) [Survey 2].
In the October 2023 Traffic Safety Report, the installation of ADA-compliant sidewalks, pedestrian safety measures, and related appurtenances on Fort Hill Road, Old Army Road, and Ardsley Road, as well as Mt. Joy Avenue between Central Park Avenue and Old Army Road, were also key priorities which came out of the ECC’s traffic and pedestrian safety engagement process.
