POLICE SAY EDGEMONT RESIDENTS WELCOME TO TUESDAY'S 'NATIONAL NIGHT OUT' PARTY AT TOWN HALL

Greenburgh police chief Chris McNerney today said Edgemont residents are very much welcome to attend the Town’s first annual “National Night Out” party at Town Hall this Tuesday, August 2, at Greenburgh Town Hall from 6-9 p.m.  Admission is free.

The event, which is being hosted by the Police Department, is intended to strengthen police ties to individual sections of unincorporated Greenburgh  by illustrating ways in which town police can help Greenburgh  communities fight neighborhood crime and prevent drug abuse.   Programs such as “Neighborhood Watch” will be discussed.

According to a flyer distributed by Chief McNerney, “National Night Out” involves over 15,325 communities from all fifty states, U.S.territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world

In an email today to ECC president Bob Bernstein, Chief McNerney wrote, “We would love to see as many Edgemont resident as possible.”

The police will be hosting a free barbecue, providing information, and sponsoring entertainment and other activities.
