This evening, Tuesday, March 17th the School Board Nominating Committee recommended both Jennifer Darger and Brian Yarrington to fill the two impending vacancies on the Board of Education. The SBNC had the good fortune of having two very strong nominees both of whom are currently finishing their first term on the School Board. The SBNC truly appreciates the nominees dedication and willingness to run for a second term.
The Committee will host its annual Candidates’ Forum on Wednesday April 8, 2015, at 8pm in the Greenville school cafeteria. All members of the community are encouraged to attend.
I would like to thank this years School Board Nominating Committee consisting of 18 members representing seven civic associations including the ECC and a student from the High School. The SBNC process works as it brings highly qualified individuals to the school board, people who probably would not consider running for the position and subjecting themselves to “the campaign” and the public scrutiny often associated with general elections. We are very fortunate to have a diverse group of individuals on the SBNC who serve with extreme thoughtfulness and dedication throughout the nomination and recommendation process.
