A power failure reported last night at Edgemont Junior Senior High School has resulted in the school being closed today. The elementary schools are both open.
The school district notified parents last night at 10 p.m. that there had been a power failure at the high school with “no estimate when power to be restored.” School officials then believed school opening “might be delayed.”
It is not known what caused the power failure although last night’s high winds and downed trees may be responsible. It is also not known how many homes, if any, may also be affected. Power outages were reported last night in parts of Old Edgemont, but they were brief.
The Town has provided no information.
