Mark Your Calendar: ECC Edgemont Day of Service - Saturday, March 2, 10am to 12pm

The ECC is excited to partner with the Afya Foundation on Saturday, March 2nd from 10AM to 12 Noon for its Spring 2024 Edgemont Day of Service. Participants will sort and pack supplies. Participants under 14 years old need to be accompanied by an adult. To underwrite the supplies used during the event and offset the facility opening off-hours for our group, we’re requesting a contribution of $50 for an individual or $100 per family (up to 4 volunteers). To sign up please complete the form here.

The Afya Foundation, based out of Yonkers, NY, delivers critical medical and humanitarian supplies at home and around the world. Afya is unique in that it customizes each shipment to the specified needs of healthcare providers on the ground, ensuring only needed items are delivered, which is crucial in medical emergencies when healthcare workers do not have the time to sort through surplus items.

Not only does this help underserved and compromised health systems, it diverts supplies that are still usable from landfills – to date, an estimated 16 million pounds of supplies have been given a second life to help save lives.

If you are unable to participate in the Day of Service but would still like to be a part of the effort contributions can be made here.
